Ane when a tear drops once again

Slowly she gets back to her senses.
Her body shudders at the fact that she has to let him go.
Tears won't stop and she is too numbed to know anything except that he's going away from her.
A  year of beautiful moments is at its end.

He is trying to get her back with all he can.
He explains how he feels about her in texts since she refuses to take his calls.
"I never lied to you when I said I love you. I will make it up to you. I promise... A gentleman’s promise...", he says to her.

She wishes she could believe him.
But she knows she will have to let him go because she thinks his happiness lies with someone else.
She texts him back saying it doesn't matter to her anymore.
NO REPLY.
She texts him again.
NO REPLY.

This scares her. She tries calling him; once...twice...thrice...and then his number is out of reach.
She keeps trying his number constantly expecting it will connect at least once.
All sorts of ugly thoughts surround her mind. She tries not to think about them.
She checks the time every 5 minutes.

Its 11:30pm now. Just half an hour and this supposed perfect day which wasn't perfect anymore will come to an end.
With this day, everything which made him and her, "them", would end.
She shuns off all these thoughts. As of that moment, all she wants to know is that he's safe.

She tries his number again, one last time.
*tring* goes the ring.
He doesn't answer her call for a while.
She is hurt, and just when she is about to disconnect, his voice hits her ears.
A little smile of relief passes her lips.
He's safe. She wants nothing more than this.
She regains her anger.
She is quiet for a minute.

She wishes to forget all that happened in the day and wants to get back to him.

Instead she crosses her fingers and says,"Fine. You're safe. That is all I wanted to know. Anyway it doesn't matter to me anymore. Do what you please.........."

She isn't done yet. She wants to end it once and for all.
 But he interrupts her.
He shuts her.. With just two sentences..

"I've kept my promise, baby"
"I want you to listen to me while I read out something that I have written for you. Just for you."

He wrote a letter for her.

A letter which comprised of all that he felt for her.

He told her how she is the one who can make him the happiest.
How she understands him like no one else does.
How she knows him better than anyone else.

How he believes he is destined to be with her..
and that she belongs to him... she belongs with him...

Just when she thought everything was over,
he reminded her of how incomplete she is without him...

Those few lines that he wrote were enough for her to forget everything else...

All she knew was that...

She wanted to be with him.
She needed him.
She loved him.
.
.
.
.
Everything else was still again...
All that happened was,

"A tear dropped once again"

If Only..!

The eyes that looked back at him were full of love and affection. No. The picture did not do justice to her beauty. The big, beautiful, gray eyes, always lined with kohl, the cute little nose and the nose stud she wore, the naturally pink lips all set in that heart-shaped face made her look like an angel. The smile, the dimples that the smile brought, the way her eyes brightened every time she smiled had taken his breath away every single time he’d looked at her, since the last sixteen years, ever since they were six, No camera in the world, no artist could ever capture her beauty.  He’d considered himself lucky to have her. To have her love. She’d promised to stay with him forever. Didn’t she tell him that no matter what, she’d always love him? Hadn’t she promised that even if he wanted her to leave, she wouldn’t because she loved him too much? Didn’t she tell him that she’ll never leave him alone? Then why? Why did she go? Why did she leave him when he hadn’t even asked her...

Parallel World

He ran across the court, dribbling the ball by his side. He blocked and took a tough shot at the basket. The ball balanced precariously on the ring as every single player stopp to watch it. As everyone gasped, it fell in, making him the star of the match. The girls who were sitting on the bleachers erupted in Ooh's and Aah's while his team mates ran up to pat him on the back. He was pretty excited and looked around at all the people cheering for him. As he was looking away, a girl at the end of the bleachers caught his sight. She had her earphones plugged and looked completely lost in a small thick book that she was reading. He found himself getting slightly annoyed at her lack of interest in what he'd just achieved. He turned around and started running across the court. He looked up at her again and saw her smiling at the book - and he found himself smiling at that. ---------------------- She sat at the far end of the bleachers, away from the rest of t...

Being A Desi Abroad- PART1

It's been a while since I wrote ! I know, was just going through a phase of writer's block :P  But then these two cracked me up and got me back on track :) This is nothing like my usual posts, no metaphors no fictions. My life has been a roller coaster ride for quite a few months now.   Ever since I entered the second year of my bachelor's I knew it wasn't going to be enough for me I wanted to be greedy to learn more, and I planned my MS.  This blog is about my own experiences of moving from a bustling, all too familiar life in Pune to a country I had only seen in movies and sitcoms. Maybe there are a few tips hidden along the way for anyone who is thinking of the move, never having been to the US before. I had finished all my applications, and was waiting for the results and enjoying the few months, I had left with my family, till the pandemic hit us. The entire uncertainty of the situation put me off completely. Though I got admits from all schools I really wanted to ...
